Is there an app for distributing headshots as well?
Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 12:02AM If you are anything like me, you have a box of receipts to sort through at tax time. Endless piles of little white papers from shows, residencies, business lunches, gasoline, scripts, tickets from plays you’ve attended, blah, blah, blah. Invoices. Many theatre artists are either self-employed as independent contractors, or have put hundreds of dollars into headshots, resumés, and singing lessons so I can’t imagine I’m alone in this.
Paper everywhere.
Math. Yuck.
Organization. Double yuck.
This is my new favourite toy on my iPhone. Somehow it makes receipts fun for me. Thought I’d share.

Note. After the reader pulls out the receipt information, it stores it in the system. You can add labels (eg. "show tickets") or track milage - great for touring artists - and then email it to yourself in a spreadsheet or directly into your computerized accounting program, if you have one.
